DESCRIPTION:Binder Park Zoo Overnight Programs give you the experience of spending the night at your Zoo! They are educational and fun for all. Overnights come with dinner\, an animal expert lesson\, activities/games related to the theme of the night\, campfire\, night hike\, sleeping at the zoo\, breakfast\, guided tour\, give-away items\, and next-day admission! \nDeb F has reserved this special evening\, Sept 11th\, for GLAC members and has paid for 17 slots (but can add to that if need be). We will need a minimum of 15 people and can have up to 64 participants. Final number is needed by August 17th. Depending on our final count\, the cost per person will be somewhere in the $65-$70 range per person. Not bad for all the perks we are getting! Please let me know if you are planning to participate. DESCRIPTION:On September 29th\, a GLAC group is going to head to this resort in West Virginia to spend 3 nights. There is plenty to do even if you don’t want to raft. Those who wish\, can go white water rafting on one of our full days and can choose from a variety of other adventures on our other one- hiking\, zip-lining\, climbing\, rappelling… ACE Adventure Resort | New River Gorge\, West Virginia \nLet Deb F know if you might like to be included on this trip. A cabin has been booked cabin that fits 10 and we are just about at capacity. (Camping is also an option if you prefer to tent.) \nIt is about an 8-hour drive to get there from Kalamazoo. SUMMARY:Fall Trip (Part B - North Carolina)
DESCRIPTION:As you may know\, Shahed A\, one of our GLAC members has moved to Raleigh\, NC and invited us to come down to explore the area. We are working with a knowledgeable paddler- Rich A of the Carolina Kayak Club to put together an itinerary and make the necessary arrangements for boat rentals\, etc. Rich knows the waters well and will guide us as we visit some unique places to kayak. \nPlanning is well underway for a trip that will run from October 2nd- 9th or 10th. Please see the Forum posting on June 17 for full itinerary. Most lodging has been reserved. We are hoping to have a group of 10- 18 people participate. Group size will be limited based on when all the sleeping spots in the VRBOs have been assigned. This will be done as you confirm your intention to participate. You will notice there are multiple segments to our stay in North Carolina. If you would like to come but can only do a portion of it\, let me know. We will accommodate as many as we are able to. If you want to work on arranging your own lodging and want to join the paddles\, go ahead and give it a try. Again\, let me know. Once I have reached capacity I will start a wait-list. Check your calendars and secure your spot if you are interested in participating.
