Forum

GLAC members stay connected through the GLAC Forum, an email list based on our Google Group, groups.google.com/group/glac. We utilize the email feature of this discussion group to send impromptu event notifications and other adventure-related announcements.

You do NOT need a Google account to send and receive forum emails

  • You will receive forum emails in the mailbox of the email account you gave us on your membership form. The emails will have a “from” address of whatever GLAC member is posting the message. The subject will begin with “{GLAC}.”
  • You can post to the forum using the email account you gave us on your membership form. Simply compose your email with the “to” address of glac@googlegroups.com
  • You can reply to any forum email, by using the “reply” feature in your email program. The reply will automatically be addressed to the GLAC member who sent the original message, NOT to the GLAC forum list.

You DO need a free Google account to visit the forum archives on the web, change your nickname or subscription status, or post via the web interface.

  • Getting a Google account Visit Google’s New Account Creation form at www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount. You will be asked to enter your current email address. Be sure to use the SAME address you gave to the club secretary when you signed up for GLAC. You will be asked to create a password for your Google account. It does not need to be the same password as your email password. Don’t forget to keep your password in a secure location. As soon as you log in, you may proceed to our Group at groups.google.com/group/glac.
  • Already have a Google account? (e.g. Gmail, Google Meet, Google Docs?) Make sure the primary email address associated with your Google account is the SAME email address you gave to the club secretary when you signed up for GLAC. Visit groups.google.com/group/glac and click “Sign in to Google Groups”

We make every attempt to add new members to the Google Group as soon as we have their dues and e-mail address. However, there may be a delay of a day or two. If you believe you should have access but are denied access for more than 2 weeks, please contact the GLAC Forum Manager and we’ll get you set up!
